GEOECOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF WATER QUALITY FORRECREATIONAL USE OF THE DON RIVER AND ITS TRIBUTARIES

Ecological and hygienic assessment of water quality in the Don River and its tributaries was carried out according to the results of hydrochemical and microbiological monitoring, as well as analysis of data from the water register of the territory in places of recreational water use. Failure to comply with hygienic standards for sanitary and chemical indicators (from 2.6 to 25.7 % of water samples) in terms of the concentration of ammonium ion, nitrates, phosphates, BOD, COD was found in about half of water and coastal recreation places, and in approximately 80 % of the recreational
