The relevance of this topic is due to the fact that at the present stage of economic development, the exhaustibility of traditional energy resources is clearly visible. For the further development of the economy of our country, it is necessary to widely introduce and use alternative energy sources such as the energy of the Earth's heat, the sun, wind, waters of the World Ocean, etc. The purpose of the work is to analyze the state of wind energy at the present stage of economic development. The article discusses the main aspects of the development of alternative energy and their strategic role in the development of the country's economy. A deep analysis of the basics of energy production from renewable energy sources (RES) is given. The leading factors that have a significant impact on stimulating the strategic development of alternative energy in Russia have been identified.
