Ionic liquids - ecologically pure product, which makes the technology of their synthesis and processes with their use in the category of "Green chemistry" (Green Chemistry). This means that in the foreseeable future interest in this class of compounds will only grow. Existing technologies do not allow to effectively remove sulfur-containing, especially aromatic sulfur (thiophene, benzotiofen, dibenzothiophene), compounds, and therefore is improvement of technologies already existing processes, and the development of principally new directions in this field. The study of processes of synthesis of ionic liquids and subsequent extraction with its help, sulfur-containing compounds from hydrocarbon fuels. Among all possible methods of extraction desulphurization differs simplicity and convenience in operation. As an extractant it is advisable to use ionic liquids, liquid at room temperature salts of organic and inorganic acids with surround organic bases with excellent selectivity and a number of properties that allow them too effectively and purposefully remove unwanted components from hydrocarbon fuels.
