Astrakhan region was chosen as favorable for the implementation of a pilot project for the construction of a network of solar power station: the cause is high solar activity and insolation. One power plant with a capacity of 15 MW is planned to be located on an area of an average of 30 hectares, 4-5 hectares of which will remain unused for the future. Objects of alternative energy bear the maximum load on the environment during the construction period, therefore environmental monitoring is required. According to the results of research and practical work the author analyzes the impacts on the environment, the problems encountered in the construction of solar power plants in the Narimanov district of the Astrakhan region, justified measures to ensure the effective and safe operation of the facilities.
