Tourist and recreational zoning mangystau of Kazakhstan for ecological tourism development

It is found that there are two main components for the tourist attractiveness – historical and cultural values and aesthetic appeal of tourist destinations. They are themeaning andmotive oftravel and they ensure the development of infrastructure. Geographic, cultural and historical conditions of Mangistau region, due to its geopoliticalposition andhistorical reasons, have the necessary resourcesfor the developmentof eco-tourismin the region. Mangistauregion is locatedin the southwest of Kazakhstan, on the eastern shoreof the Caspian Seabetween 45°and 42°N, in the desert area, and includes the Mangyshlak peninsula, Ustyurt plateau, the Buzachi peninsula, Mertviy Kultukand Kaidak mountains. Mangistauregion is washed by the Caspian Sea in the northand in the west. It borders Aktobe region of Kazakhstan inthe north-east, Uzbekistan in the east, theRepublic of Turkmenistan in the south. Recreationalzoning of the Mangyshlakpeninsula revealed recreational areaswith differentconditions for the developmentof varioustrends ineco-tourism. All offeredtourist andrecreational areaswere differentiatedonthe geomorphological basis and confined togeomorphologicalareas thathave specific features(topography, landscapes, climate, etc.) that determine the specializationof each area.
