The article is devoted to one of the urgent problems of our time - pollution of marine areas by oil and oil products spills and ways of their elimination. The increase in the number of emergencies caused by increased oil production and transportation in marine basins necessitates the study and analysis of ways to locate and eliminate emergency spills. The geo - ecological consequences of oil spills are difficult to account for, as oil pollution disrupts many natural processes and relationships, significantly alters the living conditions of all types of living organisms, and accumulates in the biomass. The paper presents the characteristics of modern methods of emergency oil and oil product spill response (mechanical, thermal, physical - chemical, biological), describes the design features of oil collection devices, identifies the advantages and disadvantages of technologies for using dispersants and sorbents, and analyzes their characteristic features.

Key words: нефть, нефтепродукты, оборудование, аварийные разливы, адгезия, сорбция, диспергенты, oil, petroleum products, equipment, accidental spills, adhesion, sorption, dispersant
