In the arid zone of the North-Western Caspian the limiting factor is the moistening of the soil, depending on the amount of precipitation in the annual bioclimatic cycle and their distribution over the seasons of the year. Bioclimatic potential (the regime of precipitation, temperature, hydrothermal coefficient, water consumption of phytocenosis) causes the provision of the main factors of life (temperature, water availability) for the vegetation period of plants. Therefore, the justification of the timing of the creation of pasture agrophytocenoses is possible only when studying the bioclimatic potential of the territory during the year and the emerging conditions, depending on the limiting factor, which determines the state of crops. The aim of the study is to determine the bioclimatic potential of the territory. The methodological basis of the study was the calculation of the hydrothermal coefficient, the volatility from the soil surface, and the water consumption of pasture agrophytocenoses.
