During exploration of a deposit within Central Astrakhan gas field user and production Organizations constantly face a number of difficulties that significantly reduce the effectiveness of the research and do not allow providing a deposit preparation for the industrial completion with a high degree of confidence. Besides a number of issues that need to be taken for granted and provide a solution to all tasks taking into consideration these factors (high hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide in the production field, considerable depth of productive formations, salt-dome tectonics etc.), developing appropriate measures for industrial and environmental safety, taking into account the cost-effectiveness of development project, etc., there are problems, the impact of which can be minimized by increasing a degree of scrutiny of the geological structure of the territory and the corresponding rock complexes, their formation conditions. This paper deals with the development of a rational complex exploration in difficult conditions salt dome tectonics Central Astrakhan gas field, which will allow reducing geological and technological risks in exploration and in the future operational directional drilling.
