The energy saving method of cyclic thiols preparation with the use of mediators

This research is devoted to the development of energy-saving method of cyclic thiols synthesis using cycloalkenes and hydrogen sulfide in the presence of electromediators. H S is a component of natural and associated gas, gas condensate and also it is a by-product of different technological processes. Production of elemental sulfur by the Claus-process which is required for utilization of H S has a number of drawbacks, and by the way, it is extremely marginal. The technology of this process is constantly improving, but its economic efficiency is low due to low cost of sulfur. The mediators of variable nature were offered to use for activation of the H S. So, it is really promising to involve H S as a thiolating agent in the synthesis of useful sulfur compounds. It is important to note, that energy consumption decrease on cycloalkanethiols (which are widely used in different branches of technology and agriculture) electrosynthesis was attained as compared to the direct method of electrochemical activation of the H S.
