The article relates that each post-salt basin is characterized by its specific geological conditions. For example, deposits from similar eras in different troughs have the same thickness and the same reservoir properties, but they exhibit different formation water salinities and different formation pressure gradients (mainly for the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods). The most serious complications have arisen during drilling operations conducted near Maykop, the Republic of Adygea. Some researchers believe that drilling should be undertaken in an independent TSAGKM mine, not one that is part of AGKM (as imagined by geologists working for Volgograd NIP Imorneft and for VNIIGAZ). They explain that there is a different (oblique) GVK deviation from the mean values in the acid gas and condensate content. Other researchers, by contrast, believe the Astrakhan Arch has positive co-sedimentary structural conditions. Investigators consider the Astrakhan Arch a positive post-sedimentary structure (with reference to its sediments and subsequent erosion). The document says there is evidence that large new gas fields exist at the periphery of the Astrakhan Arch stratigraphic screening trap. The site is on the border of the Verhne-Artinsk Region and the Nizhne-Bashkirian productive reservoir conglomerate. In conclusion, the search for large new gas fields in this area of exploration could eventually create a powerful new fuel and energy complex in the south of Russia.
