The article relates that the uneven selection of gas deposits in the Urengoy gas field has been affected by the amount of its final condensate, which itself has been caused by an increase in the reservoir losses. It has reached this conclusion based on its PVT-related comprehensive experimental study of the phase behavior of the recombined samples of the separator-gas-and-condensate-rich Urengoy field. The paper also notes that the condensate recovery factor (CRF), reflecting the influence of the area’s uneven factor input deposits, will be lower than the final projected CRF (when compared with the approved 6 % rate). Subsequently, the critique covers the design and development of all the productive strata of the Urengoy Field from the Lower Cretaceous era with regard to their position in the section. It deals with their thermodynamic conditions, and the proximity of reservoir behavior and of saturating fluid. The condensate reservoir is now at an extremely saturated stage. Consequently, the ’Draft Integrated Development Lower Urengoy field’ has proposed the option of using the gas condensate reservoirs without recourse to pressure maintenance. The recommendations would also provide for the initial development of objects that do not contain oil rims (IV and I objects) and objects with oil rims (III and II objects), plus the selection of gas 1,3–1,6 % from the approved reserves. At this stage of exploration, extensive field research work has been undertaken, with the aim of refining the current condensate losses as a result of special experimental RVT research. The document contains a table which shows the weighted average value of the potential condensate content in the reservoir gas, in accordance with its approved place and recoverable reserves.
