In recent years, tens of thousands of accidents and incidents in the technological sphere have been registered in Russia. Astrakhan region, being a large territorial entity, is characterized by a significant number of production facilities, housing and communal facilities and hydraulic engineering facilities, as well as a developed network of roads and Railways, which determine the socio-economic potential of the region and are sources of man-made accidents. The involvement of new territories of the Astrakhan region in economic development, a large deterioration of production assets of hazardous facilities, the weakening of production, technological and security discipline increase the likelihood of accidents of man - made nature and lead to emergency situations, accompanied by damage to the economy, and often-and human victims. All of the above dictates the need for geoecological analysis of the technogenic danger of the Astrakhan region.
