Currently in Russia there is a trend of increasing demand for natural foods. This led to the active development of such new lines of agricultural production, organic agriculture. The last is an environmental alternative to traditional agriculture, and aims to provide not only food but also environmental safety of population and territories. The development of tourism based on organic production farms is seen as a promising form of recreation, focused on the regional sustainable development. The analysis showed that the 39 farms in the Republic of Tatarstan involved in the production of organic products have considerable potential for tourism development with use of elements of the regional system of specially protected natural territories. The location of the «organic farms» into ecologically safe areas with a large concentration of protected areas allows to solve the key problem of the lack of necessary infrastructure, hampering the development of tourism and recreation on the objects of natural reserve fund. Evaluation of the organic tourism potential is considered as a mandatory element in the development of regional programs for sustainable development of municipalities and in developing strategic solutions and practical organization for sustainable tourism in protected areas.
